With the milder weather currently enjoyed in Florida, many residents of 3 Meadows or visitors to the area may be wanting to get out on the water for some outdoor recreation. We are blessed with abundant activities available from fishing, to swimming (maybe still a bit cold for that), to just paddling and exploring the many estuaries, lakes and rivers in Florida.
Many may be unaware of a new Florida Boat Ramp Locator Map which has been produced by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to assist those wanting to launch a craft into Florida waters. This new resource is a bit tricky in navigating at the moment, but certainly increases the number of opportunities for your water related adventures.
Check out our review and the related links at Florida Nature Guide by following this link to our Florida Boat Ramp article.

The below has been updated to include more details on the individuals and a correction to the license tag number:

Greetings Net,
Some of the recent home burglaries in Melbourne were committed by a band of burglars (Black males). They are currently very active.
While they may be using the below listed RENTAL vehicle, they could be using others to case homes and commit burglaries.
Chevrolet Traverse
Silver (or light color)
Tennessee license tag number D8563J
Note: Click on the attached LINK to see pictures of what any Chevrolet Transverse could look like:

Details:
– Black males, 20 to 30 years of age.
– Distinguishing features: One may have dreadlocks.
– This group typically scopes out there area for a number of days and selects the homes the will burglarize.
– The current thought is that they could be moving from Melbourne to focus on another city, possibly Rockledge. While they may start with the homes in the southern section of Rockledge, any community is susceptible to their threat, all residents should be watchful.
Please watch for the vehicle described above, noting that they could be using a different vehicle as this is a rentals vehicle. More so, always question the presence of any suspicious vehicle in your community, whether it is passing through or parked, especially if you note strangers in it or walking your street.
Contact the police immediately. Sighting of this vehicle warrants a 911 call for an immediate response.

Those residents of Three Meadows or other visitors to our site may be interested in an excursion to the abundant shoreline found in Florida. Perhaps you have family or friends visiting and they would like to check out some of the less developed beaches in the state, but you really do not have the information they are looking for regarding our local beaches or those in other areas your guests plan to visit.
For the benefit of everyone in this situation, I am including this article with a link to a recent post on my Florida Nature Guide website regarding the interactive beach map developed for this interest. Check it out and send it along to others who may want to see some of the coastal areas without all the commercial distraction. There are a couple of links at the bottom of the article to aid in bookmarking or sending a link in email.
For those who want to navigate these many coastal destinations directly from the website, this link to the Coastal Section of Florida Nature Guide helpful. The map links to the site, but some visitors may wish to learn more about the Florida Coasts and research from a menu based approach directly.
Follow this link to the Interactive Florida Beach Map.
Enjoy…. and … as always … feedback is appreciated.

Greetings Net,
I recently received an e-mail from one of our net members who wanted to share an incident that occurred within the week. The scenario borders on their family being a victim of a home invasion. They are counting their blessings and want to send out a simple reminder of caution to others. I have altered the info as to not disclose the identification of the family providing this info – – – and I thank them for sharing their story and caring enough to emphasize to others how important it is not to let your guard down. My thanks to Ms. “S” for the support of the net and those it reaches out to.

Hi Howard,
We thought we’d let you know about an incident that happened last Saturday night at our house. It was about 9:15 pm, we were in the back room watching t.v., waiting for our son to get home from visiting friends in Merritt Island. We heard doors open up in another part of the house and the dogs started to bark. We thought it was our son coming home.
We waited for him to come down the hallway but no one came. We left the room to investigate and soon heard the doors close. Our son was still not home.
We went out front to see if there was anyone out there but didn’t see anybody. Concerned, we called our son and he said he was still in Merritt Island. We immediately called the police. They quickly responded and walked around but, found nothing.
We normally keep the doors locked at ALL times but because we knew our son was going to be home any minute we unlocked them, not expecting someone to walk in!! Thank God the dogs barked and ran to the door!!!
Please remind everyone to keep their doors locked even if you are expecting someone any minute.
